Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer based in Austin, TX. You will design electrical systems, plan power distribution, lighting, and LV distribution for buildings and facilities, while performing on-site investigations in the San Antonio/Austin area.

You will support senior engineers in equipment selection and run studies such as arc flash and short-circuit analyses. The role emphasizes collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, strong communication, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
• Collaborates effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities.
• Conduct power system planning, distribution, lighting design, and LV distribution.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, installation details, and cable schedules.
• Support senior engineers in equipment selection and specification.
• Perform on-site field investigations and construction reviews.
