Overview

Entry Level Electrical Engineer (Energy/Power) at Jacobs. Jacobs' Energy and Power Solutions team is searching for a driven entry-level Electrical Engineer focused on the energy and power market. Under the guidance of professional engineers and other senior technical staff you will provide solutions to clients’ challenges.

Responsibilities

As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide. You’ll:

• Conduct condition assessment of existing systems and participate in feasibility and master plan studies
• Engage in detailed design and construction oversight for power generation facilities, distribution systems and substations
• Produce electrical calculations, reports and construction document packages for bidding and construction
• Develop modeling skills by evaluating load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash hazards and by developing relay protection strategies
• Assist with design activities including lightning protection and grounding
• Develop procurement specifications for electrical equipment and materials for construction projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required
• Strong analytical, conceptual, technical writing and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous relevant internship experience is preferred
• Experience with 3D modeling and viewing software such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, Revit and NavisWorks
• System modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar software
