Job summary

Baldwin EMC in Summerdale, AL is seeking an Engineer I to design and oversee electric distribution projects. You will survey sites, prepare work orders for new services and improvements, and ensure accurate CIAC and cost documentation.

This is an entry-level engineering role with opportunities for growth within the Engineering department. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, familiarity with electrical theory, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
• 0-2 years internship, co-op, or coursework in electric utility/power systems
• Knowledge of electrical theory
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Survey sites and design electric distribution facilities
• Prepare work orders for services and projects
• Calculate CIAC, construction costs, and deposits
• Coordinate with members and departments for ROW and easements
• Provide technical direction on installation requirements
• Maintain records of underground distribution costs
• Respond to member and contractor inquiries
