Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Engineer in Reform, AL to design, plan, and manage electrical distribution networks for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. You will analyze load flows, coordinate with field teams, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting system expansion and modernization.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, power distribution experience, and proficiency with CAD and power system simulation tools.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required (BS or higher).
• Power distribution design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD and power system simulation tools.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for electrical layouts.
• Experience with GIS for distribution networks considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and optimize electrical distribution systems (overhead/underground lines, substations, transformers).
• Perform load flow studies, fault analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
• Maintain records, assess asset condition, and recommend maintenance or replacement.
• Coordinate with construction crews, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Respond to outages and emergencies, analyze data from monitoring systems, and support restoration efforts.
• Support system expansion, modernization, and reliability improvements.
