4P Consulting Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer to support the design, planning, optimization, and maintenance of electric distribution systems for Alabama Power in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area.

The role may be filled at entry level up to Engineer II level depending on background, with knowledge of electrical distribution design, technical analysis, project management, system reliability, and safety standards.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and field teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Tuscaloosa/Northport, AL area.

Responsabilidades

• Design and plan electrical distribution systems and power lines.
• Support distribution system upgrades, replacements, and maintenance projects.
• Perform technical analysis, including load flow analysis, fault analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
• Optimize distribution networks for reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage distribution projects from planning and design through implementation.
• Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, records, and project documentation.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of distribution system designs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, field technicians, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical support for field activities and customer-related distribution issues.
• Promote safe work practices and support reliable system operations.
