Job summary

CES in Middletown, CT seeks an entry level, full-time Electrical Engineer to design and lay out power, lighting, communications and fire alarm systems for projects nationwide.

You will draft with AutoCAD and Revit, ensure code compliance, select equipment, perform on-site surveys, and prepare electrical specifications.

The position offers a robust benefits package including 401k with match and paid time off; starting pay is $67,500 per year.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering preferred with 0 to 3 years of job related experience.
  • Must be able to use AutoCAD and Revit, for drafting and design to complete a project.
  • Strong oral and writing skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Designs portions of a project using engineering formulas and skills for ensuring safety and technical accuracy.
  • Reviews design project for code compliance and performs code research as required to comply with applicable State, Local and Federal codes.
  • Identifies and selects equipment from appropriate manufacturing catalogs for specific applications.
  • Ability to perform on-site investigations and surveys prior to design.
  • Writes electrical specifications through completion.
  • Coordinates the contract documents between engineering disciplines and architectural details.
  • Participates in coordination meetings with owner/architect.
  • Provides technical support to contractors throughout construction.
  • Instructs designers on how to produce designs into complete drawings.
  • Performs his or her own drafting/design using AutoCAD and/or Revit and reviews own work for accuracy.

We currently have an opening in our Middletown, CT office for an entry level full-time Electrical Engineer.
