Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Design Engineer specializing in electric utilities to lead overhead and underground distribution projects from concept through completion.

You will develop construction prints, prepare budget estimates, perform QA/QC, and analyze distribution poles while working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality designs that meet client specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in electrical distribution.
• QA/QC experience is highly desired.
• Knowledge of BOUD, Maximo, and CAD.
• Strong work ethic with a desire to work in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to develop high-quality designs that meet project specifications and client requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand project goals and design details.
• Communicate project risks or challenges related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
• Partner with Designers and Drafters to produce complete and accurate design packages.
• Contribute to engineering designs through calculations, drawings, and technical analysis.
• Lead design efforts on smaller projects and support complex engineering initiatives.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, clients, and vendors.
• Help coordinate design tasks and support the development of design team members.
• Maintain quality by following company and client procedures and performing thorough self-reviews.
• Support field activities and other project needs as required.
