Job Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of ensuring quality in Growing Media and Mulch products at the plant-level, including, but not limited to: formulation oversight and testing; incoming raw material inspection, testing, and approval; ensuring that all established specifications and processes are followed. The Coordinator is also responsible for the plant's EH & S program to include OSHA, Oldcastle, and EPA requirements.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversight and testing of product formulations
2. Inspection, testing, and approval of incoming raw materials
3. Follow all established specifications and processes
4. Investigate and resolve Customer quality complaints
5. Administer and maintain EH & S program
6. Routinely inspect/observe plant equipment and activities for safe processes
7. Prepare and submit all required reports to Oldcastle or applicable agency
8. Keep plant in compliance with EH & S regulations
9. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
10. Experience with lab and testing procedures preferred
11. Experience with safety programs and compliance
12. Some experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
13. Some mechanical aptitude or experience with production processing equipment preferred
14. Some experience working with EH & S programs/agencies
15. Interest in Horticulture or Gardening is a plus
16. Environmental, Health, & Safety programs and rules

Job Requirements

1. High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred
2. Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
3. Adequate computer skills
4. Ability to influence thinking, deal with and overcome resistance and objections, and to motivate change
5. Must be detail-oriented
6. Must be able to problem-solve, with a strong sense of goal attainment
7. Good housekeeping skills required
8. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
9. Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
10. Standing for extended periods of time
11. Able to work under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust and dirt
