Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific examination protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
• Prepare for exams by patient identification and education; transport patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability post-exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and techniques.
• Document exam results and required information; apply charge codes.
• Maintain equipment, work area, and supplies; coordinate repairs.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.
