Job summary
Actalent in Tampa, FL is seeking an Entry Level Distribution Engineer to support power distribution upgrades and storm hardening projects across Florida. You will conduct site visits, perform design calculations, and prepare drawings for approvals, working with utilities like Duke Energy and FP&L.
The role involves field work, coordination with project teams, and ensuring compliance with client standards. Knowledge of BOUD/Maximo/Smallworld is a plus; a four-year ABET-accredited engineering
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited BS in Engineering required; hands-on design experience preferred.
- Experience with electric utility distribution concepts is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits and take field notes, measurements, sketches, photographs and field conditions.
- Perform electric distribution designs using field notes and client standards.
- Draft construction drawings for agency approvals and prepare project packages with material estimates.
- Review plans for impacts to existing distribution systems and ensure safety and reliability.
- Attend project meetings and ensure ISO/compliance requirements are met.
