Job summary

United Utility Services in Denver, CO is seeking a Designer to develop overhead electric distribution designs, process field data, and generate construction drawings using GIS and our work-management system. You will support estimates and feeder upgrades while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a degree in engineering or power distribution, strong CAD skills, and experience communicating with clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor/associate degree in engineering, technology, or power distribution design.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Good oral and written communication skills are required.
Ability to interact with clients in connection with project design responsibilities.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Updates GIS software to reflect current field conditions.
With guidance, designs and processes construction work requests related to overhead distribution, applying guidelines and standards.
Prepares computer-assisted designs and generates construction drawings for QA and design review.
Prepares distribution circuit designs with basic understanding of circuit drawings and distribution concepts.
With assistance, prepares pole boring, cost estimates, and reports for construction and maintenance projects.
Tracks and updates design activities within United Utility's project management system.
