Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Diesel Technician C (Entry-Level) to assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, and equipment while learning the fundamentals of diesel mechanics.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll build knowledge, confidence, and skills to advance to Diesel Technician B and ultimately Diesel Technician A. The role emphasizes safety and hands-on learning for a long-term fleet maintenance career.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn.
• One year of mechanical experience or related training preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to build and maintain a professional tool set.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and vehicles.
• Learn to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment.
• Assist with oil changes, lubrication, brake inspections, tire inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
• Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment.
• Document repair orders, inspections, maintenance records, and parts usage.
