Wheeling Longwall & Rebuild, Inc. in Brilliant, OH, is hiring an entry-level Surface Maintenance Trainee to learn diesel-powered heavy equipment maintenance and diagnostics. You will gain hands-on experience with engines, welding, powertrains, and hydraulics in a shop and field setting.

The role offers salary non-exempt status with a pay range of $42,640 to $46,840, plus a production bonus. Ideal for individuals starting a career with growth potential and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 18 years of age or older required.
• Certification from a vocational school is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsabilités

• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of work area, vehicle, and shop.
• Support Field Diesel Mechanic on repairs.
• Disassemble, salvage, and clean machine components.
• Unload and stage maintenance items for next shift and organize storage.
• Salvage and catalog automotive components for storage.
• Perform small gasoline engine service and repairs (e.g., water pumps).
• Disassemble and reseal small hydraulic cylinders in shop.
• Service pickup trucks and trailers; perform routine maintenance and simple diagnostics.
• Complete daily tasks and report to supervisor.
