Job summary

HOLT CAT is seeking an entry-level diesel mechanic to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on heavy equipment. You’ll rely on established guidelines and work under supervision as part of a team delivering reliable mechanical services.

You will handle basic disassembly/assembly, learn repair planning, and process parts orders while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• One or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability to read/use schematics and diagrams preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer specifications using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized tooling.
• Assist in rebuilding, repairing, reconditioning, and maintaining equipment and components.
• Provide excellent customer relations and communicate needs to shop management.
• Plan equipment and component repairs and complete parts orders.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and complete all repair documents promptly.
• Work overtime as required and follow safety policies.
