Job summary

Visit Indy is seeking an Account Manager 1 (Entry Level) to sell Indianapolis as a premier meeting destination. You will qualify leads, build relationships, and drive opportunities through the sales cycle for events with 10–150 rooms.

The role requires collaboration with managers, site visits, and seamless turnover to services teams. A foundation in sales and hospitality is preferred, with a focus on delivering outstanding client experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, sales/marketing, or related field preferred.
• One year of prior experience in sales preferred.
• One year’s experience in tourism industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Qualify leads and establish business relationships; move opportunities through the sales cycle.
• Partner with sales managers to target key accounts and develop strategies.
• Update and maintain lead information in the sales system; maintain contacts database.
• Showcase Indianapolis to planners; plan and execute site inspections to secure meetings.
• Provide exemplary client service and understand client needs to enhance experience.
• Coordinate with services manager during turnover; stay engaged with customers after turnover.
