Job summary

Schnabel Austin, TX is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Engineer to join our growing geotechnical and civil engineering practice. This role offers training to develop field and analytical skills while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree, be willing to perform field work, and possess AutoCAD Civil3D proficiency. Strong communication and a desire for growth are essential.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.
