Schnabel Engineering in Longmont, CO is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing practice. We seek a motivated candidate with interest in developing both field and analytical skills, a passion to continue professional growth, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Willingness and ability to travel, including extended field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.
