Job summary

As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform duties such as scheduling interviews, assisting with court testimony, making service referrals, documenting activities, and participating in case reviews to support your growth,

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Training Participation: Learn procedures, observe staff, and build knowledge of community resources
• Interview Scheduling: Arrange and conduct interviews and follow-up visits with families
• Court Preparation: Assist with preparing and providing supervised testimony in court
• Service Referrals: Make referrals to social service agencies and help clients understand available resources
• Documentation Duties: Record activities using required methods including summaries, correspondence, and reports
• Case Review Support: Participate in case reviews and supervisory conferences to support learning
