Job summary
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) seeks a Controls Engineer to support critical national defense infrastructure at Arnold AFB, TN. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in design, analysis, and field testing of utility control systems under senior engineers.
You will learn and apply DoD security directives, collaborate with Instrument Technicians and Utility Supervisors, and split time between office work and on-site fieldwork to develop practical engineering skills.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or closely related field.
- EIT certification or progress toward it preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of PLCs, industrial communication protocols, or feedback control systems.
Responsibilities
- Support PLC/DCS platforms from vendors like GE, Schneider Electric, Rockwell, and ABB under senior engineering guidance.
- Maintain control systems for electrical distribution, water/wastewater treatment, cooling water plants and steam plants.
- Participate in field commissioning, instrumentation troubleshooting, and system testing with experienced technicians.
- Assist with utility instrumentation and data collection systems and HMI-based meters reading.
