Job summary
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is hiring a Controls Engineer I in De Soto, Kansas, to support automation systems across a high‑volume battery manufacturing facility. You will help program, install, and troubleshoot vision systems (Keyence) and PLCs (Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) under supervision, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering/technical field
- Preferred coursework or capstone work related to PLCs, automation, robotics, or manufacturing controls
- Internship or co‑op experience in manufacturing/industrial/automation environments
- Introductory training or certifications related to industrial controls, PLC platforms, automation systems, or electrical safety
Responsibilities
- Support programming, installation, and troubleshooting of automation systems within Panasonic’s battery manufacturing operations
- Assist with the programming, installation, and troubleshooting of Keyence vision systems used in manufacturing processes
- Support the programming, installation, and troubleshooting of PLC systems, including Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens platforms
- Analyze product and equipment specifications to design solutions compatible with existing facilities and methods
- Prepare detailed schematics and assist with prototype builds; contribute to data analysis and testing of designs
