Job summary
Panasonic Energy is hiring a Controls Engineer II for its De Soto, Kansas site, expanding a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery factory. You will program, install, and troubleshoot Keyence vision systems and PLCs (Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens) to design efficient manufacturing solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment specs and project scopes. You will develop detailed electrical drawings, support prototype builds, and contribute to long-term engineering
Qualifications
- 2+ years of controls or automation engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory environments
- Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC-based automation systems (e.g., Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Working knowledge of electrical drawings, sequences, control software design, and wiring practices
- Ability to manage defined workstreams or small automation projects within the controls area
- Must have working-level knowledge of English and Panasonic core principles
Responsibilities
- Independently program, install, and troubleshoot Keyence vision systems
- Independently program, install, and troubleshoot PLC systems (Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Analyze specifications to develop robust control system designs
- Manage small automation projects within the controls area
- Prepare detailed schematics and coordinate prototype builds
