Job summary

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Controls & Automation Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group in Pittsburgh, PA. You will support instrumentation and control system engineering across maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a hands-on environment.

You will contribute to PLC/DCS/HMI programming, P&ID development, and on-site start-up activities, gaining practical experience in SCADA, telemetry, and ISA applications while

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be university/college graduates with relevant skills
• Preferred degree in electrical or chemical engineering with an interest in controls or computer science
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Responsibilities

• Provide instrumentation and control system engineering design support to multidisciplinary teams on maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects
• Participate in site evaluations and data collection
• Contribute to P&ID development and instrument data sheets
• Assist in preparing equipment specifications and instrument data sheets
• Update motor schematics, loop drawings, and instrument location drawings
• Assist in PLC, DCS, and HMI programming and functional descriptions
• Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and start-up support
• Gain knowledge in control systems, instrumentation, electrical interfaces, SCADA and ISA applications
• Acquire on-site practical experience
