Job summary

Hourigan is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to learn and participate across construction management tracks, including field management, project management, preconstruction, VDC coordination, and safety.

You will support the project team, help with permits, documentation, and scheduling, while developing skills in estimating, procurement, and coordination. This role emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and growth within Hourigan's safety-first environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 0-3 years of construction-related experience.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours.
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up the job management system and processing submittal data to keep schedules on track.
• Support the Superintendent and project team with permit processes and site utilization planning.
• Help with reviewing quality control, safety plans, and coordination of subcontractors/suppliers.
• Participate in preconstruction activities, including quantity take-offs, budgeting, and VE worksheets.
• Attend project meetings and prepare progress reports/minutes; ensure drawings and changes are up to date.
