Entry-Level Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

S&ME is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Services team in Cincinnati, Ohio. Help us provide engineering solutions to our clients!

What You Will Do:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will test and analyze construction materials such as soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting and documenting tests on construction materials with precision.
• Collaborating with experienced colleagues and working independently to ensure complete and accurate test results.
• Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
• Supporting quality control and adherence to industry standards.
• Assisting with field and laboratory operations as needed.

Who You Are:

• You hold a High School diploma/GED.
• You have 0-2 years of experience in a construction materials laboratory.
• You possess effective math skills and a basic understanding of measurements.
• You have strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Certifications (a plus):
• ACI: Field Testing Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, Laboratory Technician.
• ICC: Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils).
• DOT Certifications in Aggregate, Density, Asphalt, and Concrete.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

You must be able to perform physical tasks with PPE, including:

• Walking over rough terrain and standing for long hours.
• Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. regularly.
