Job summary

Actalent in Englewood, CO is seeking an entry-level estimator to develop skills in pricing, bidding, and preconstruction. You will review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor pricing, and help prepare competitive bids for commercial projects.

You will work with experienced teams on negotiated and hard-bid work, gaining exposure from concept to completion in a collaborative environment with strong mentorship.

Qualifications

• Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Desire to build a career in construction estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Support the preparation of project estimates and bid proposals.
• Review plans, specifications, and other bid documents.
• Solicit and track subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Analyze subcontractor quotes and compare bid coverage.
• Maintain estimating spreadsheets and bid documentation.
• Assist with budgeting and preliminary pricing exercises.
• Coordinate with project teams during preconstruction activities.
• Participate in project handoff meetings after project award.
• Learn industry best practices related to bidding, procurement, and cost management.
