Job summary

Actalent, based in Englewood, CO, is seeking an entry-level Estimator to support preconstruction and pricing efforts for commercial projects. You will review construction documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and help prepare competitive bids under guidance from experienced professionals.

You will learn how negotiated and hard-bid work is developed from concept to completion, while demonstrating a strong work ethic, curiosity, and detail orientation in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
• Desire to pursue a career in construction estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Support the preparation of project estimates and bid proposals.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing and track quotes.
• Analyze subcontractor quotes and compare bid coverage.
• Maintain estimating spreadsheets and bid documentation.
• Assist with budgeting and early pricing exercises.
• Coordinate with project teams during preconstruction activities.
• Participate in project handoff meetings after award.
• Learn best practices in bidding, procurement and cost management.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field
