Prince George's County Government's Department of Public Works & Transportation seeks a Masonry Mechanic I to perform entry-level cement and brick finishing on sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and driveways in Forestville, MD. The role works under supervision in alignment with departmental policies and safety rules.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, hands-on cement finishing experience, and a valid driver's license; CDL and snow plowing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school (or vocational high school).
• Work experience in cement/brick finishing.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cement/brick finishing duties.
• Removes old concrete, sets forms, mixes, places, and finishes new concrete.
• Places and finishes expansion joints in sidewalks, curb & gutter, and driveways.
• Smooths and levels cement surfaces with trowels and tools.
• Applies finishing coats to cement surfaces on streets, sidewalks, and bridges.
• Maintains materials and procures tools, equipment, and supplies for projects.
• Assists in investigating service requests/complaints.
• Supports corrective actions to resolve issues.
