Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is recruiting an entry-level CNC Operator for New Market, VA. Work on second or third shift operating CNC/automatic machines to produce components per specifications. You will set up, read blueprints, and perform quality inspections to ensure part conformity.

Responsibilities include selecting tools, adjusting feeds and speeds, and maintaining safety and efficiency while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience in machine operation.
• Machine operation experience.
• Vocational training or the equivalent experience; external certification may be required but typically does not require a university degree.
• Technical school certification or Apprenticeship program preferred.
• Manufacturing experience of 1-3 years automated/CNC work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC or other automated machines per procedures.
• Set up equipment: feeds, speeds, temperatures; follow procedures for CNC tasks.
• Read blueprints and set up work to quality specs using gages.
• Inspect machined products with precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in lean initiatives.
