Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in El Paso, TX. No experience is required as you’ll learn under experienced professionals and receive paid training plus certification fee support.

You will conduct field sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, collaborate with project managers and technicians, and develop skills toward certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all laws and company policies.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety and practices.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM standards leading to certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on sites under guidance.
• Testing procedures: perform routine field tests using industry-standard methods and equipment.
• Data collection: perform calculations and data reduction; assist with drafting and admin duties.
• Communication: maintain daily updates with site contractors and project managers; report test requests.
• Training and development: receive ECS methodology training and document findings precisely.
