Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Savannah, GA. No experience is required as you will learn under guidance of experienced professionals in a dynamic on-site setting.

You will conduct field sampling, perform standard tests for soils and concrete, collect data, and coordinate with project managers. Training and certifications are provided as you grow with the team.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites.
  • Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
  • Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results; assist with drafting and admin duties.
  • Communication: Maintain daily contact with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changes to supervisor.
  • Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings with precision.
