Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Mattawan, MI is seeking a Technician I for the Clinical Pathology Team. This entry-level role trains on onboarding skills and performs basic study support under close supervision.

Responsibilities include handling samples, labeling, aliquoting, processing, slide preparation, staining, and slide verification while maintaining GLP compliance. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with occasional overtime and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS in biological science preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Learn onboarding skills and procedures; cooperate in a team environment.
• Handle biological samples: labeling, delivery, aliquoting, processing, verification.
• Prepare, stain, and consolidate slides; maintain equipment and lab cleanliness.
• Work under close supervision to gain proficiency; adhere to GLP, SOP, BOP, and IACUC rules.
• May work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
