Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Completed California State approved CLS training program at Kaiser Permanente Northern California facility.
• Eligible to take the State approved CLS licensing exam by start of the CLS Extern position.

Responsibilities

• Verify specimen and test accuracy for each patient.
• Perform tests on post-verified specimens under supervision.
• Load specimens on analyzers and locate specimens for add-on tests.
• Review results with supervisor or designee for competency assessment.
• Maintain instrument logs and records of repairs/maintenance.
• Assist with special projects not requiring licensed staff.
