Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Roseville, CA seeks an entry-level CLS extern to continue training under the Laboratory Director. You will perform pre- and post-analytical tasks, ensure correct testing, and support quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include specimen verification, instrument loading, data entry for analyses, and collaboration with licensed staff to ensure patient care quality. This is a temporary externship with day shifts.

Qualifications

• Reading and comprehension of instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Verify correct specimen and test for the patient.
• Perform tests on post-verified specimens and review results with supervisor.
• Load specimens on analyzers and locate specimens for add-on tests.
• Ensure specimen adequacy and proper handling by licensed personnel.
• Follow quality control procedures to maintain data accuracy.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments under supervision.
• Record repairs and maintenance on instrument logs.
• Enter data for statistical analyses supporting CLS evaluations.
• Assist with special projects as directed.
