Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I for its Ellicott City, MD office. The role supports the Land Development group and involves designing and supervising large construction projects, from roadways to utilities, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.

The candidate will perform field observations, assist with design details, and develop cost estimates and technical reports under senior staff guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• Land development or water resources coursework preferred.
• EIT preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design project components using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and tools.
• Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
• Work to complete design details and plan sets.
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior staff.
• Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.
• Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
