Job description

Entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer

Join to apply for the Entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer role at SCS Engineers.

As an entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer, you will provide engineering/design support for solid waste projects, including landfills and transfer stations, for private and municipal clients. You will work closely with Professional Engineers to learn a project from design to construction. The position is based in our Bedford, TX office, with field work involved.

How You Can Make An Impact

• Prepare grading plans, stormwater management designs, water balance models, volume calculations, and other engineering calculations.
• Draft engineering reports with data, charts, graphs, sketches, and figures.
• Conduct construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Perform quality control reviews on all work products before submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Collaborate with CAD drafters or use AutoCAD for basic design plans and figures.
• Prepare permit applications and respond to regulatory agency requests with supporting documentation.
• Oversee construction activities in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering expected by June 2025.
• At least 3 months of relevant internship, work, or research experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.

Pay Range

USD $65,000 - USD $70,000 per year.
