Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Engineer I to prepare and review engineering plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates. This position may supervise drafting and sub-professional engineering work; work is performed in an office setting with a conventional workweek.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical supervisor and must meet minimum qualifications, including a bachelor's degree in engineering and licensure options.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Equivalency Notes: A master's degree in engineering may be substituted for the Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering.
• Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates: Some positions require an Engineer-In-Training certificate from the State of Maryland; NICET certification; or a Professional Engineer license.
• Some positions require a Maryland Class C Non-Commercial driver’s license or equivalent.
