LJA is seeking a Graduate Engineer III in the Land Development division. This entry-level professional role involves performing developmental engineering assignments under close supervision, with opportunities to design system components and perform calculations.

Applicants should hold a BS in Civil Engineering and be certified as Engineer-in-Training, with relevant post-graduate experience or a master’s degree plus some post-master experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is required.
• 4+ years of post-graduate experience or master’s degree plus 1-3 years of post-master’s experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design specific system components for the overall design effort.
• Perform design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications.
• Provide direction to technical staff and drafting personnel.
• Coordinate information needs with internal clients and with LJA.
• Make basic decisions on alternative procedures when information is limited.
• Apply prescribed methods to limited portions of broader assignments.
• Adjust and correlate data and recognize discrepancies in results.
