Virginia Department of Transportation seeks entry-level Civil Engineers through the EDGE Program to apply engineering studies as a competent VDOT engineer. The role develops technical and leadership competencies for the Architect Engineer I across multiple disciplines, including Location & Design, Materials, Residency Operations, Construction, and more.

Qualifikationen

• Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and obtain the EIT designation within 12 months of employment.
• Have or will have completed at least a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET program by the start of employment.
• Ability to apply engineering knowledge to complete projects and other tasks.
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance contract policies and procedures.

Aufgaben

• Analyze and interpret engineering data and information; prepare reports and recommendations.
• Communicate with internal VDOT staff, local government staff, consultants, and the public.
• Assist in the management of projects, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and status reports.
• Develop roadway designs and apply project development processes and standards.
