Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an Entry‑Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Midwest group in Fargo, ND. You will develop plans, analyze reports, and prepare cost estimates for airport design projects using AutoCAD and Civil3D.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, must be able to pass background checks, and be willing to travel about 50% of the time. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD or Civil3D preferred.
• Ability to travel approximately 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans and specifications for airport design projects.
• Analyze and prepare engineering reports and construction cost estimates.
• Perform drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets.
• Assist with construction administration and inspection, including field work (weekends/nights as needed).
• Read FAA circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data for project designs.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

As a result of our continued growth, Mead & Hunt has an exciting opportunity available for an Entry‑Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Midwest group at our Fargo, ND office.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing plans and specifications
• Analyzing and preparing engineering reports, and construction cost estimates for various airport design projects
• Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets
• Assisting with construction administration and inspection tasks including working in the field at project sites (weekends and nights, as needed)
• Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs
• Other tasks as assigned.

A valid driver's license, the ability to pass background check to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel (approximately 50%) will be required.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related field from an accredited college or be able to obtain the degree within six months of hire date.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software programs
• Civil/transportation design coursework
• Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project software programs
