Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 0–1 year of civil engineering discipline or similar experience.
• EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering plans, specifications, and design documents.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to produce accurate, timely deliverables.
• Conduct analyses to support design decisions.

About The Role

Coleman Company, Inc. is hiring a Entry Level Civil Engineering Designer for our Savannah, GA office. This is a full-time role built for an engineer in the first year or two of their career. You'll help prepare plans, specifications, reports, and permitting documents for land development projects across coastal Georgia: residential and multi-family neighborhoods, industrial and institutional sites, municipal work, and resort amenities. You'll do that work alongside the project managers and licensed engineers who review it, walk you through their redlines, and expect you to be noticeably better in six months than you were on day one.

What We’re Looking For

We are actively seeking an entry-level, detail-oriented designer with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. This individual should have a genuine desire to grow both technically and professionally. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who communicates effectively, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering plans, specifications, and design documents in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and design team members to produce accurate, timely deliverables.
• Conduct research and perform engineering analyses to support design decisions.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop efficient and accurate engineering drawings.
• Assist with engineering calculations, reports, drainage documents, and permitting submittals.
• Communicate with clients, review agencies, and utility providers to address project needs and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in site visits and construction meetings to verify compliance with design intent and address field-related questions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering codes, design standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0-1 years of civil engineering discipline or similar experience.
• EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required.
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, design standards, and permitting processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
