Job summary

Synthomer plc in Jefferson Hills, PA is seeking an Engineer at an entry level to support day-to-day manufacturing operations. The role emphasizes safe, stable, and reliable processes and collaboration with operators, technicians, and other engineers.

You will monitor data, participate in debottlenecking and plant trials, and contribute to capital projects while developing technical skills in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• 2–5 years of chemical engineering experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot process data and determine root causes of failures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating data and provide analyses and troubleshooting to meet the operating plan.
• Identify and implement improvements using the Management of Change process.
• Develop and review procedures; provide operator training as needed.
• Lead incident investigations into process and equipment failures as appropriate.
• Serve as the Division Representative on capital projects to improve productivity and capacity.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses and coordinate timely resolution plans.
