Job summary

Tharp Consulting is seeking an entry-level chassis design engineer to create chassis parts and systems that meet performance, quality, reliability and value targets.

The role involves designing and modeling parts using CATIA V5/V6, producing drawings, and coordinating with teams across design, testing, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers. It is suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; co-op experience preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and model parts using CAD software and create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with design, testing, manufacturing, purchasing, and suppliers to meet targets.
• Develop project schedules, milestones, and share progress with relevant teams.
• Review costs and ensure alignment with design goals, proposing solutions when needed.
• Attend meetings, lead discussions when appropriate, and track open items.
• Proactively share development updates and complete training to share best practices.
• Innovate by studying technical trends and proposing process improvements.
