Job summary

LS Solutions in Ohio is seeking an entry-level chassis design engineer to develop chassis parts and systems that meet performance, quality, reliability, and cost targets, delivering value and enjoyment to customers.

You will model parts in CAD (CATIA) and create 2D drawings, collaborate with design, testing, manufacturing, and suppliers, and participate in cost reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Overtime may be required; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; co-op is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD (CATIA V5/V6) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Applying fundamental engineering principles and critical thinking to achieve design goals.
• Coordinating with design, testing, manufacturing, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Creating project schedules, milestones, and sharing progress with team members.
• Reviewing costs to ensure alignment with design intent and providing solutions if needed.
• Modeling parts and systems in 3D (CATIA) and generating 2D drawings and specifications.
• Proactively communicating development updates and sharing best practices.
• Studying technical trends and proposing innovative solutions to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications Include

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience, with co-op experience preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) and Microsoft Office.

Working conditions:

Sitting, standing, walking, driving, lifting components up to 40 lbs, and occasional travel (<5%). Overtime may be required.
