Job summary

Teklabs Inc in Ohio is seeking an experienced automotive design engineer to design and develop chassis components such as suspension/steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, and related systems. You will create 3D CATIA V6 models and 2D drawings to communicate design intent.

You will apply GD&T, design-for-manufacturability, and evaluate CAE results, while collaborating with design, test engineers and suppliers to address issues, manage multiple projects, and meet development

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related engineering/design experience.
• Automotive component design and development experience
• Strong solid modeling capability
• Understanding of design intent and robust modeling practices
• Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and work collaboratively with engineering teams and suppliers
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive chassis components including suspension/steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, and related components.
• Create and interpret 2D engineering drawings and robust 3D CATIA V6 models.
• Apply GD&T and design-for-manufacturability principles to drawings and parts.
• Collaborate with design, test engineers, and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Evaluate technical proposals and communicate engineering recommendations.
• Interpret CAE results including stiffness and natural-frequency analyses.
• Manage multiple projects and support development schedules.
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate research and test results.
