Job summary

Brevard County is seeking an entry-level maintenance worker to assist in preventive maintenance and repair of building systems across county facilities. The role involves working on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, grounds, and mechanical equipment, either independently or alongside skilled trades staff.

Open to candidates with at least one year of relevant experience; a Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in commercial building maintenance and repair.
• Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
• Must pass CJIS background check and basic skills evaluation.
• Must be physically capable of wearing PPE and willing to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must complete Brevard County Mandatory Training for New Employees within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry-level service maintenance work and assists in preventive maintenance and repair of building electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, grounds, and/or mechanical equipment of assigned County buildings and facilities.
• Work independently or assist skilled trades workers as needed.
