Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Bridge Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC office. The role offers mentorship and exposure to a wide range of bridge projects for NCDOT, MDOT, VDOT, and local municipalities.

Responsibilities include design and analysis of bridges, preparation of calculations and plans, and field work such as inspections. Requires a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited); EIT/FE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience.
• EIT/FE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and analysis of highway and transit-related bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and plan sets.
• Support senior engineers in developing construction documents and specifications.
• Conduct fieldwork including bridge inspections, data collection, and site visits as needed.
• Apply structural engineering principles and software tools to solve complex design challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across WRA to deliver high-quality projects.
