Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP seeks motivated civil engineering students for a Transportation - Bridge internship in Raleigh, NC. This role offers hands-on experience with our bridge team on diverse transportation projects.

Applicants must be pursuing a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, with interest in bridge/transportation engineering and basic knowledge of structural analysis. Proficiency in MS Office is expected; MicroStation or AutoCAD exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Strong interest in bridge and transportation engineering.
Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to engineering software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Assist engineers with the design and analysis of highway and transit-related bridges and structures.
Support project teams with preparing plans, reports, and calculations.
Perform fieldwork including bridge inspections and data collection, as needed.
Conduct research and apply engineering principles to solve real-world design challenges.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a professional engineering environment.
