Entry-level Bridge Engineer (Transportation)

GPI has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer in either our Columbia, MD or Milford, DE office. Ideal candidates will hold an Engineer-In-Training certification, with aspirations of obtaining PE licensure.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic analysis and design of project elements
2. Prepare cohesive and organized structural calculations
3. Detail and draft structural elements
4. Assist with geometric layout and quantity development
5. Develop task deliverables for review by a Senior Engineer
6. Perform tasks according to schedule and budget
7. Work independently under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
8. Provide direction for team members as needed
9. Participate in bridge inspections, perform load rating calculations, and assist with report writing

Qualifications:

1. 0-5 years of structural engineering design experience
2. B.S. in Structural Engineering required; M.S. preferred
3. Engineer-in-Training Certification preferred, with a desire to obtain PE licensure
4. Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards
5. Basic knowledge of structural analysis programs
6. Basic knowledge of computer-aided drafting programs
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
8. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
9. Strong organizational skills
10. Positive attitude and good work ethic, with a desire to work collaboratively
