Join to apply for the Associate Consultant, Bridge Engineer role at WSP in the U.S.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Bridge Inspection Engineer for our Boston, MA, or Worcester, MA offices. Be involved in projects with our Mid-Atlantic Inspection Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and their application to project work-related issues.
  • Familiarity with bridge design and structural analysis including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Highly familiar with relevant structural design codes.
  • Working knowledge of MassDOT, MBTA, and/or RIDOT requirements and standards.
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with others and expressing ideas effectively to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and relevant tools.
  • Experience with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD, AASHTOWare, MDX, LEAP, CSi Bridge, STAAD, or others).
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s policies.
  • Flexibility to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel depending on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Prior design experience.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $65,100-$107,410. WSP reserves the right to pay more or less based on experience and location.
