What You Will Do

As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking an emerging Bridge Engineer to support our team in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

As a Bridge Engineer, you will assist in bridge calculations, designs, modeling, quantity take-offs, and plan preparation. This role provides mentorship, professional development, and a pathway for career growth within the industry.

• Provide 3D modelling, design, and drafting support for transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, etc.
• Perform quantity calculations and develop cost estimates.
• Assist in developing construction contract documents and review drawings.
• Coordinate work activities with other disciplines.
• Review inspection reports and perform bridge load ratings.

Education & Experience

What You Will Bring To Our Firm

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures.
• 0-3 years of experience in bridge design and/or detailing.
• Familiarity with plan development using CADD (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of design manuals and guidelines.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with structural design software like Openbridge, CSIBridge, or STAAD.
• Knowledge of AASHTO Bridge Design Standards.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $70,000-$85,000, depending on experience and location.
